THE NEW HOTEL HONUCAI (4*S) IN MALLORCA IS NOW OPEN

The new Gallery Hoteles Group hotel in Mallorca opened its doors on 27 May in Colònia de Sant Jordi, at the heart of the seafront promenade and with stunning views over the beaches of Es Carbó and Es Dolç.
Hotel Honucai (from the Hawaiian word HONU-KAI, meaning sea turtle) takes its name from the native sea turtle that is re-establishing itself on the island, and this holiday establishment is the third Gallery Hoteles Group hotel, joining the ranks of the urban establishments in Barcelona (GALLERY HOTEL) and Málaga (MOLINA LARIO).
This new 4* superior hotel is located at the heart of the seafront promenade in Colònia de Sant Jordi, an ancient fishing village and one of the most popular seasonal destinations due to its location inside the Es Trenc natural park, where the untouched beaches with their crystalline waters are the most highly-prized among visitors and islanders alike.
Following an investment of 4.5 million euros and complex works to totally refurbish the premises, including the façade, rooms and bathrooms, spa and wellness facilities, to create the Salicornia restaurant and construct a rooftop terrace with a pool overlooking the sea, the new hotel opened its doors to the public on 27th May, and 70% occupation is already booked for the whole season. Its first clients include some regular guests from the previous hotel, but the majority of the bookings are from new guests of Spanish, German and French origin, who have been captivated by the style and services of this, the area’s only boutique hotel.
Hotel Honucai currently has 78 rooms of various categories and capacities, many of which enjoy sea views, decorated in a distinctive Mediterranean style and enhanced with colourful ethnic details, with natural and marine materials that create a vibrant and light-filled atmosphere.
In addition, the new hotel has two meeting and events rooms, spa and fitness equipment for guests and the area’s first rooftop terrace, the brand-new “The TOP”, with panoramic views, pool, restaurant and a signature cocktail bar. The rooftop terrace will host events throughout the summer, in which live music and signature cocktails will be the stars.
In line with Gallery Hoteles’ commitment to outstanding cuisine in its hotels, Mallorca can now enjoy the Salicornia restaurant, based on seafood and specialising in rice dishes, with the harbour as its backdrop. Salicornia is a culinary space with character and elegance, full of light and subtlety thanks to the combination of fabrics, colours and fine materials, not to mention its enviable patio, which invite you to make a stop on your journey to enjoy its cuisine and cocktails.
Holding the reins of this newly-opened hotel is its Director Elena Oliver, previously the Head of Reception at Hotel LEMAR, who has joined this new Gallery Hoteles project together with a large part of the original team. “Hotel Honucai is an exclusive and unique product in this area, where guests will enjoy the warmest welcome because of the Gallery Hoteles philosophy. The whole team feels fully involved and committed to making this fantastic hotel a place where guests always want to come back,” explains Oliver.
