Gallery Hotel is celebrating its anniversary, as it has been 25 years since it opened its doors in 1991 on Carrer Rosselló, between the emblematic Passeig de Gràcia and Rambla de Catalunya. A hotel that has been evolving in tandem with the city and with a clear value that has always defined its philosophy: “it has always been a hotel envisaged from the perspective of the guest” explained Armando Rojas, President of the hotel group, during his speech.
Gremi d'Hotels de Barcelona President Jordi Clos attended as a special guest and talked about how, since its opening in 1991, Gallery Hotel has come to be a leading hotel in the centre of Barcelona, with its own distinct personality. He also highlighted the participation of Gallery Hotel, since its founding, in the hotels association to promote tourism in the city. In concluding, he added that “Gallery is the hotel we would all like to find at our destination when we travel”.
During the press conference, it was explained that with the anniversary the hotel is inaugurating the recently renovated rooms and event spaces, as well as the restrooms of the formal areas and terraces, an investment of €1,300,000 the hotel has made over the past two years. The hotel currently has 110 rooms, categorised by the needs of its guests, eight event spaces, four of them with natural light, and four terraces. Two of the terraces are on the rooftop, one with a swimming pool and bar/restaurant (The Top) and another for private events (The Top Events). The third and most emblematic of terrace is part of the hotel's restaurant, El Café del Gallery. The fourth (The Gallery Space) is located in the walkway connecting Carrer Rosselló with the gardens of the Palau Robert.
As Marta Golobardes, Managing Director of the group, said “Gallery Hotel has seen a 7% increase in sales this past year, with an average occupancy rate of 76.5% at an average price of €135.50. Our guests are 55% travellers visiting the city for leisure purposes and 45% doing so for business.”
The goal of Gallery Hotel for the next few years is to continue with the renovation, redecorating the restaurant and bar zone in line with the major renovation being done throughout the hotel.
Under the slogan “Our anniversary is served”, Marta Golobardes, described the major undertaking for this year, a campaign focused on gastronomy to enhance the hotel's restaurant offering: Mediterranean cuisine, richly elaborated and with a long tradition, but reinvented to keep up with the city's gastronomic trends.
At the close of the press conference, the chef of the El Café del Gallery restaurant, Pablo Tomás, gave a live demonstration of how the poster for the campaign was created with the technique of Food Art. The spring poster uses vegetables, ingredients that will vary seasonally, as will the restaurant menu, to adapt to the produce in season.
